Your privacy on the water
Privacy Policy
Effective June 28, 2026 · Last updated June 28, 2026
SeaSky Cruises is a Vancouver-based private charter company. When you book a charter, dine aboard, contact us, or simply browse our website, you trust us with personal information. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
At a glance
- We collect only what we need to plan and run your charter — your contact details, booking preferences, and (when catering is added) dietary or accessibility needs.
- Payments are processed by Stripe and Interac e-Transfer. We never store full credit-card numbers.
- We share information with the partners who help deliver your charter — our captains and crew, our catering partner, and our booking and payment providers — and never sell it.
- You can ask to see, correct, or update the information we hold about you at any time.

Who we are
SeaSky Cruises (“SeaSky,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides private boat and yacht charters, onboard catering, and related services in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are responsible for the personal information under our control, including information handled on our behalf by the service providers described in this policy.
Which laws apply
As a private-sector organization operating in British Columbia, we handle personal information in accordance with B.C.’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Where personal information crosses provincial or international borders — for example, when a service provider stores data outside Canada — the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may also apply. Our email and marketing practices follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Information we collect
We collect personal information that you give us, and a limited amount that is generated automatically when you use our website. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number, and billing or mailing address.
- Booking and charter details — your charter date, guest count, vessel preference, departure time, occasion (for example, a corporate outing, celebration, or memorial), and any special requests.
- Catering and accessibility information — menu selections and any dietary requirements, allergies, or accessibility needs you share so we can accommodate your group safely.
- Payment information — the details needed to process your deposit and balance. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; e-Transfers are received through your bank. We do not store complete credit-card numbers on our own systems.
- Communications — the messages, emails, and notes exchanged when you enquire, book, or correspond with us, including through third-party booking platforms.
- Reviews and feedback — content you choose to post about us on booking or review platforms, and feedback you send us directly.
- Photos and media — images and video taken during charters, which we may use to promote our services on our website and social media. If you would prefer not to appear, let your captain know during the charter or contact us, and we will accommodate your request.
- Website and device information — pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9).
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you — through our website enquiry and booking forms, by email, phone, or text, and in person — and through the booking platforms you may use to reach us (such as third-party charter marketplaces). Some information is collected automatically by our website and analytics tools. Where we receive your information from a booking platform, that platform’s own privacy policy also applies to its handling of your data.
Why we use it
We use personal information for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, including to:
- respond to enquiries and provide quotes;
- confirm, plan, and operate your charter or catered event;
- process deposits, balances, refunds, and issue invoices and receipts;
- accommodate dietary, accessibility, and safety requirements;
- communicate with you about your booking and important charter-day details;
- send you updates, offers, or seasonal information where you have agreed to receive them;
- promote our services using photos and video from charters (you may opt out — see Section 3);
- maintain our records, improve our services and website, and resolve disputes; and
- meet legal, insurance, safety, and accounting obligations.
Consent and your choices
By providing your information and booking with us, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of that information for the purposes described in this policy. In some cases consent is implied by the nature of the service you request; in others we will ask for it expressly. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits — though doing so may mean we can no longer provide a service. Marketing emails always include an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of promotional messages without affecting your bookings.
Information stored outside Canada
Some of our service providers — including our payment processor and certain website and analytics tools — may store or process personal information on servers located outside Canada, such as in the United States. When information is held in another country, it may be accessible to the courts, law-enforcement, and authorities of that country under their laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure our providers protect your information to a comparable standard.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable physical, organizational, and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information — including limiting access to those who need it, using reputable providers for payments and storage, and securing our accounts and devices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected, and to meet our legal, tax, insurance, and accounting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we securely destroy, delete, or anonymize it.
Your right to access and correct
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and to whom we have disclosed it, and to request corrections to anything inaccurate or incomplete. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer in writing using the details below. We will respond within the timeframe required by PIPA — generally 30 days — and will let you know if we need more time or cannot fulfill part of a request, with reasons. There is normally no charge for an access request, though a minimal fee may apply where a request requires significant effort, in which case we will give you an estimate first.
Children
Our services are arranged by and marketed to adults. Guests under the age of majority are welcome aboard as part of a booking made by an adult, but our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without a parent or guardian’s involvement.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
